3/18/23: The New York Rangers took down the Boston Bruins in a brutal shutout fashion. The score would be 6-0 with Igor Shesterkin posting 33 saves in the winning effort.
This is undoubtedly a statement win by the New York crew, both offensively and defensively. Boston is a 50+ win team and favorites to make a deep playoff run, the Rangers absolutely destroyed them. New York showed that they are truly no longer in a 'funk' and can contend along with dominate some of the top team(s) in the league. We have all seen that when this Rangers' squad is hot they are very scary.
This was also the Russian's 10th career blank, overall the second of the season. Shesterkin has been on fire with a .900sv% over the previous four games.
The 6-0 score also gave New York their 40th win of the season, as they continue to be a top Metropolitan team.
