Igor Shesterkin left mid-game against the Hurricanes with an apparent general soreness on November 2nd. Since then he has been sidelined.
The New York Rangers did not rule out Shesterkin for Thursday’s assignment against the Minnesota Wild at the Garden, but it is likely that Jonathan Quick, who sports a 3-0-1 record with a .936 save percentage will get his third straight start.
Quick has been fabulous this season with a 1.77 GAA, but undoubtedly New York needs their Moscow threat back.
Shesterkin did practice with the team Wednesday, but his return has not been officially set.
Nevertheless the MSG Blues’ have held things down and are 1st in the Metropolitan Division with 19 points and a 9-2-1 record.
