The verdict is in on the violation of Jaxson Dart’s in-game concussion protocol. The NFL has fined the New York Giants $200K, head coach Brian Daboll $100K and rookie fan favorite running back Cam Skattebo $15K, for violating concussion protocol while quarterback Jaxson Dart was being evaluated for a concussion.
The violation came in New York’s Week 6 affair against the Philadelphia Eagles on October 9th. When a player is being evaluated for a concussion only essential medical staff are allowed to be with said player with the evaluation occurring in the medical tent or locker room.
Both Daboll and Skattebo violated the protocol when both entered the medical tent and spoke with the rookie QB1 before the evaluation was complete. The interaction created the perception that there was interference with Dart’s exam, which was later disproved by all sides that the interaction did not play a part in Dart being cleared.Â
