Tonight is the night everyone has been waiting for since the ECF. It is the opening night tipoff for the New York Knicks.
New York faces Cleveland at 7:00 p.m at MSG, looking to begin their season on a high note. Unfortunately for several Knicks’ their first game will have to wait as this may be an early silver lining for New York.
Karl-Anthony Towns is questionable, OG Anunoby is listed as probable and both Josh Hart and big man Mitchell Robinson are out for tonight’s season opener. KAT has a right quad strain, OG (ankle) is expected to play as Robinson's ankle and Hart's lumbar spasms will have them riding the bench in their zip-ups.
The Knicks are coming off of a 51-31 2024/25 campaign, which saw their first trip to the Eastern Conference Finals in over two decades. Despite their thrilling dominant season, head coach Tom Thibodeau still got the boot in surprising fashion. The Knicks hired Mike Brown to be their next head coach as the team continues to chase a finals appearance.
Brown has a 454-304 coaching record between his time with Cleveland, Los Angeles and most recently Sacramento, which saw him fired mid-season after a 13-18 start. Tonight will be the first taste of Brown at the helm of the white, orange and blue team in the regular season.
