Islanders Get Much Needed Momentum Going Into Golden Knights Game

Updated: May 17, 2023

The New York Islanders are now just four games below .500% as they took down long time rivals the Boston Bruins 3-1. With this win New York now stands 8-12-5 in the win-loss-overtime loss column as Boston falls to 14-10-2 on the season. New York got off to a solid start this season but fell on cold ice lately that sent them down below .500% and frankly it has been a truly inconsistent season. The Islanders are under Ilya Sorokin as the starting goalie, overall he has brought the team to a 7-7-4 record and has a save percentage of .926% as Semyon Varlamov sits 1-5-1, allowing about three goals per game. It is still early in the season and the Islander can still turn things around and go for the division win and this weekend they will be tested as they face the Golden Knights who are 18-11-0 at UBS Arena.
