Blue Devils Dominate Mustangs; Go back to .500 As Miller Makes History

The West Haven Blue Devils played their 6th game in what is a 12 game regular season, with that the regular season is half way over. This was their 5th home game overall as they went into the Bennett with a 1-3 record there, overall on the season West Haven had 2 wins, one home against Hamden and one away in what was a shutout against North Haven. West Haven came into this one game below the .500 win percentage mark with a 2-3 record in much need of a win. And they did just that, West Haven put on a clinic as they win 5-1, blowing out the Mustangs. Goals came from everyone it seemed as Blue Devils captain, Nick Boanno started things off. Followed by him came DJ Carfora who got what is his second goal of the season, other goals were made by Nico Bruneau, Mike Madera, who got his first career goal and Ben Carfora who extends his team goal lead as with that he now has 5 goals on the season though six games.

Senior starting goalie, Charlie Miller was nearly perfect in Saturdays game almost getting the shutout, he now has over 100 saves on the season and we just reached half way. Overall though this is a shortened season, if you look at a 6 game stat total by previous Blue Devil goalies you would see that a goalie wearing a West Haven jersey has not been able to get 100 or more saves though six games in over a decade. With that Charlie Miller breaks that streak and makes history, adding him to a very elite list.

West Haven leaves this game with a 3-3 record as the Mustangs leave with a 2-3 record. The Blue Devils are getting ready to square up against rink rivals Notre Dame - West Haven.
