Yankees Hire "The Mayor" In Hopes Of Saving Season

It has been reported that the New York Yankees organization has hired former Red Sox player Sean “The Mayor” Casey to fill in the hitting coach void.

Casey spent 12 years in the majors and was a career .302 hitter with 130 home runs. The hiring of Casey comes as not even a full 24-hours since the Yankees fired Dillon Lawson. Overall Casey is with New York on a one-year deal.

Going into the all-star break out of a playoff berth and on a downward trend. New York stands 49-42, ranking 29/30 in team batting average.
