Why The New York Jets Should Re-Sign Trevor Siemian

Trevor Siemian and Brett Rypien are both set for free agency this upcoming offseason as Zach Wilson will be traded. Possibly all three quarterbacks leaving means the Jets will have a long offseason ahead, but some of that QB-signing stress could be alleviated by bringing back a 2023 familiar face.

There were two quarterbacks on the Jets last season that posted winning records: Aaron Rodgers (1-0) and Trevor Siemian (2-1). Siemian’s wins were in games after New York was eliminated from playoff contention, meanwhile Rodgers only played in 75 seconds of the game he won.

Siemian would be QB3 behind whoever the Jets draft in April. The Connecticut native went 86-for-153 (56.2%), passing for 724 yards and 2 touchdowns and double the interceptions in 5 games, 3 of which were starts.
