Friday marked history for the New York Sports Show as it was the first race weekend as a sponsor. The NYSS sponsored the #66 Street Stock and the #39 Late Model car at the Stafford Motor Speedway.
The #66 Rent A Racecar Monte Carlo had a 7th place finish in the heat race allowing driver Chris Danielczuk to qualify p14 for the feature. Chris had a strong outing as he avoided every wreak and spin there was (which there was a lot) and was as high as p10, but with about three laps to go the right front break caliber went which had him fall off the pace. Chris was still able to bring the #66 RAR/NYSS sponsored car across the finish line to end the race with a 17th place finish 1 lap down.
The #39 of Paul Varricchio Jr. Had what was an amazing heat, finishing P1 to start on pole for the feature. Paul led every lap but with 6 to go the yellow waived and the field was reset, after that there was caution after caution. Paul was passed by points leader Adam Gray who would go on to win, soon after that the car went into turns 1 & 2 wide open which led him to pit under what was another yellow flag. Paul would end up finishing p12, but for over 95% of the race he was leading or inside the top 3.
