Luke Voit opted out of his Mets’ minor-league contract almost a week ago, now he is a free agent.
In triple-AAA this season Voit appeared in 45 games and hit .263 with a 1.035 OPS and 15 home runs. The only time he has spent in the Majors so far this season is with the Milwaukee Brewers, where he hit .221 in 68 at-bats.
Frankly, it is surprising that the power hitter wasn’t picked up immediately once he was off the Mets, it seemed like he had a mini career resurgence and a regain of confidence in the minors. So now the questions are, when will he join a new team and who will that new team be?
