Everson Pereira was recently promoted to triple-AAA, after posting a .291 average with Somerset through 46 games.
The right-handed hitter is ranked as the Yankees fourth-best prospect, and overall is the only player ranked in the top five that resides in AAA.
Though new to Scranton, Pereira has not let the change of scenery bring down his play. In 7 games a .400 batting average with 9 RBIs is on his fresh stat line.
The 22-year-old is already listed on New York’s 40-man and is expected to be part of the September Call-ups.
Nevertheless, the Yankees are struggling, losing their most-recent series to the Colorado Rockies.
Depending on the state of the Yankees come the trade deadline it is very possible that Pereira will be call-up to the majors or used in a trade.
