Many wondered why Chris Streveler did not start in the meaningless regular season finale for the Jets. He was the preseason hero and held his own when playing in relief of Zach Wilson against the playoff-bound Jacksonville Jaguars.
The 28-year-old will be a free agent post 2023 regular season, the Jets have at least a year left with the QB, so why not utilize him come the new season? Streveler is fast and has a 66 cmp% through nine career games, the Jets can make special plays for him, making a ‘dark horse’ look in the backup slot for Streveler.
Most likely he will be QB2 or QB3 for New York come the 2023/24 regular season.
